Common Questions About BrandAlias
Step One – Initiate Purchase or Negotiate Price
If the domain name is already priced, click on the “Buy now” Button to start the transaction. You will then be directed to the escrow service provider’s website, where you will be given instructions on how to make the payment.
If you the domain name is not priced, enter your offer price and your details and we will begin the negotiation process. Once a price is agreed, BrandAlias.com will create a transaction via the escrow service provider. You will then be sent an email with further instructions on how to make the payment at the escrow service provider’s website.
Step Two – Make Payment
If you do not already have an account with the escrow service provider, you will be required to create a free account. Once you have created your account, you will be able to select your payment method.
Buyers can pay with the following methods:
- Wires
- PayPal
- Credit/Debit Card
Step Three – Payment Verification
Once the escrow service provider verifies the payment; the seller and the buyer are notified that the funds have been secured.
Step Four – Domain Ownership Transfer
Upon payment verification, the seller is authorized to transfer the domain name. The domain name can either be transferred to the escrow service provider for onward transfer to the buyer, or directly to the buyer.
Domain names are registered at domain registrars. The buyer can opt to have the domain name transferred their account at the current domain registrar, or opt to transfer the domain name to another domain registrar. Transfers within the same registrar can be done on the same day, whilst the actual transfer process to another registrar can take about five to seven days.
If the buyer wishes to transfer the domain name to another domain registrar, the buyer will need to initiate the domain name transfer at their chosen domain registrar. The seller will send the buyer an email with the Authorization code. The buyer will need to enter the Authorization code at their chosen domain registrar. Once this is done it will take about five to seven days for the existing domain registrar to transfer the domain name to the buyer’s chosen domain registrar.
Both domain registrars will notify the parties once the transfer is complete.
Step Five – Completion
Once the escrow service provider confirms that the domain name has been transferred, the seller is paid the seller’s proceeds. The buyer and seller are equally protected during the transaction.
All domain names require you pay a domain registrar a domain registration fee to register the domain name, and an annual renewal fee to maintain ownership of the domain name.
Registration/renewal fees are paid directly to the domain registrar where the domain name is registered, and range from $8 and $20 per year, depending on the registrar, and the domain extension (for example .com, .net and .org).
The domain names listed at BrandAlias.com are already registered (pre-registered). As such, when you purchase a domain name from us, you will only need to pay the domain registrar the annual renewal fee by the anniversary date of the domain registration. The domain registrar will normally send you emails when the domain name is soon due for renewal.
Once you pay the full purchase price for the domain name, you will have no further financial obligations to BrandAlias.com.
Please note that failure to renew your domain name before the expiry date (the anniversary of the domain registration) will result in you losing ownership rights of the domain name. The domain name will then be made available to the public for registration, by the domain registrar.
The domain registrar will email you renewal notices in advance of the domain expiration date. You can also opt to auto renew your domain name to avoid losing it.

We may use some logos on BrandAlias.com to provide a visual illustration of what the brand could look like. We will own the copyright to such logos, unless we agree with the buyer to transfer the copyright to them.
